About the event
Dr. Louie Bustle has served as a pastor, missionary, District Superintendent, Mission Director, Regional Director, and Global Director in missions for the Church of the Nazarene over a period of 42 years. He and his wife, Ellen (Phillips) have celebrated 56 years of marriage.
Louie and Ellen served their first term as missionaries in the Virgin Islands where they started several churches and had exceptional growth. Dr Bustle also started the work on the island country of Antigua. In 1975 they were appointed to start the work of the Church of the Nazarene in the Dominican Republic where he served as Mission Director and the first District Superintendent. God gave them a movement of church planting and growth.
In 1982, Dr. and Mrs. Bustle transferred to Peru where he served as the Mission Director. In 1983 they moved to Quito, Ecuador, where Dr. Bustle established the first Regional Office for the South America Region. He served as the Regional Director for South America until 1994. In February, 1994, Dr. Bustle was elected by the General Board to serve as the Director of the World Mission Department (now Global Mission) and served until 2012 when he retired. His legacy in missions is marked by the multiplication of growth and the development of an atmosphere for a movement of God.
The Bustles have two children and seven grandchildren and currently reside in
Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
